Thin Tofu Brownies 薄い豆腐ブラウニー

Made with tofu instead of butter, these brownies are decadent and moist. To add a fresh spin on this classic dessert, try browning them in a pan and carefully cut into bite-size pieces for a snack you can take with you on the go.

*Recipe* (To fill one 17cm square pan)

1. Beat 200g of silken tofu with a whisk.
2. Add 1 egg and 50g of cane sugar to the tofu, mixing well after each ingredient is added.
3. Sift in 35g of cake flour, 15g of cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt, and mix.
4. Mix in 50g of melted chocolate.
5. Pour the mixture made in step 4 into the pan, and bake for 25 minutes in an oven set to 180 degrees Celsius.
6. Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan, then cut into pieces. Dust with cocoa powder for a chic look. We honestly wish we would have added a little rum… Oh, well. Maybe next time!

The silken tofu did create little lumps in the brownie after baking, but we didn’t particularly mind. If you’d prefer your brownies without, you may get good results by passing the tofu through a strainer.


*レシピ*(17センチのスクエア型 1個分)
1.絹ごし豆腐 200gを泡立て器でよく混ぜる。
2.卵 1個、きび砂糖 50gを順に加え混ぜる。
3.薄力粉 35g、ココアパウダー 15g、塩 ひとつまみ をふるい入れ、混ぜる。
4.溶かしたチョコレート 50gを加え混ぜる。
